Let’s be honest we all have a pretty good idea at a basic level about what we need to do in order to lose weight and maintain a reasonably healthy lifestyle. Examples include:- Eat less fatty / sugar laden foods, eat smaller portions, eat more vegetables / fruit, reduce red meat intake, regular exercise etc – Simple you might say - So why do so many struggle with this ?
Well one of the problems with things that are simple to do is that they are also “simple not to do”.

How many times have you decided it’s time to lose weight and off you go to the Supermarket. The fridge ends up packed with every conceivable salad item, the fruit bowl can’t hold any more fruit and you’re all set to go. So why within 24hrs have you frequently found yourself tucking into a bar of chocolate, piece of cake, bag of crisps or something similar. The excuse being there’s nothing in to eat or theres nothing you really fancy. Another couple of days pass and the majority of the food that you bought ends up ……In the Bin!
You might be one of the many who have even joined one of the well known weight loss organisations, whereby no foods a sin and its all about points. You may well feel that this worked for you because you lost a good amount of weight …..Well at least you did in the beginning but you’ve since put it back on and now because Summers on its way you’re considering repeating the same pattern again …. The same pattern which if you’re honest with yourself failed you last time and quite probably the time before that and so on.
What you ‘really looking for is lasting change without the constant feeling that you are depriving yourself of something which you really want.
